Which AxisDirect plan fits whom

AxisDirect runs 5 plans. The right one depends on how often you trade and which segments you use — not on the headline rate alone.

Prosperity
Percentage-of-turnover brokerage, usually bundled with research and advisory — fits investors who want guidance and trade less often.
Axis Direct Select · ₹999 one-time
A paid plan — worth it once the brokerage you save each month clears the subscription, i.e. for frequent, higher-volume traders.
Axis Direct Select Plus · ₹2,999 one-time
A paid plan — worth it once the brokerage you save each month clears the subscription, i.e. for frequent, higher-volume traders.
Axis Direct Elite · ₹5,555 one-time
A paid plan — worth it once the brokerage you save each month clears the subscription, i.e. for frequent, higher-volume traders.
Axis Direct Platinum · ₹9,999 one-time
A paid plan — worth it once the brokerage you save each month clears the subscription, i.e. for frequent, higher-volume traders.

Not sure which one nets out cheaper for your trade size? Run both through the AxisDirect brokerage calculator — switch plans in the dropdown to see the landed cost change.

Demat & account fees

Charged separately from brokerage. DP charges apply on equity delivery sells; subscription fees (if any) apply to the broker’s paid plan.

Account opening
We don’t track account-opening fees centrally. Check AxisDirect’s site for the current rate.

Statutory & exchange charges

These are set by the government and exchanges — they apply on every trade through any Indian broker, not just AxisDirect. Values are percent of turnover (per side).

STT is charged on the sell side for equity delivery and intraday, on the sell side for options (on premium) and both sides for futures. Stamp duty applies on the buy side only. GST is computed on the sum of brokerage + SEBI + exchange transaction charges. DP charges apply separately on delivery sells. The calculator handles all of this automatically.

No — AxisDirect charges 0.5% (min ₹25) on equity delivery on its default plan, unlike the zero-delivery discount brokers. Statutory charges apply on top.

AxisDirect charges ₹25 per scrip as DP (depository participant) charges on the sell side of every equity delivery trade — flat, regardless of quantity. It is levied via the depository (CDSL/NSDL), separate from brokerage.

Demat AMC is Free for 1st year (Axis Bank account holders), thereafter Rs 750 per annum.. These are separate from per-trade brokerage — see the AxisDirect demat account page for the full recurring-cost picture.

Every AxisDirect trade also carries statutory and exchange charges that are identical across all Indian brokers: STT/CTT, stamp duty (buy side), SEBI turnover fees, exchange transaction charges, and 18% GST on brokerage + SEBI + exchange. On small trades these often exceed the brokerage itself.
