Editorial note

Why this exists

Every Indian broker has a calculator on their own site that conveniently leaves out the fees you pay to other brokers. Every comparison site is funded by the brokers it ranks. We built Know Your Brokerage to be the boring, unsexy thing the market never had — one place to see what your money actually costs you, dated and verifiable, with no advertiser sitting on the other side of the table. We started with brokerage because that’s where the hidden costs hurt most; the same neutral treatment now covers bonds, and will reach every product that routes through your demat account.

FAQ

Quick answers

Know Your Brokerage is an independent calculator and database for Indian stock brokers. We aggregate brokerage charges, government taxes, and exchange fees across every major broker and let you run real trades through them — for free, with no signup. Beyond brokerage, we cover the products you reach through a demat account, starting with a full bonds and fixed-income hub.

Every rate is verified against the broker’s official pricing page. Each broker entry carries a `lastVerifiedAt` date, and we re-check rates on a quarterly cadence. Where a broker offers multiple pricing plans, we model each plan individually so you can switch and see the actual charges for the plan you’re on.

Yes — completely free. No signup, no paywall, no ads. We may add affiliate links on broker review pages in the future, but charge calculators will always be free.

All 38 brokers in our registry have a working calculator — discount, full-service, and bank-backed. Browse them on the brokerage calculator hub.

Yes. Side-by-side broker-vs-broker comparison pages are live (for example Zerodha vs Groww), along with best-broker shortlists like cheapest broker and best demat account. Find them linked from the stock brokers in India page.

Yes. Beyond brokerage we have a full bonds and fixed-income hub — a registry of SEBI-registered (OBPP) bond platforms, best-platform shortlists, an NCD tracker, bond-vs-bond comparisons and a bond-yield calculator. It’s the first of several investing areas you reach through a demat account that we’re building out.

Not on Know Your Brokerage — we stay focused on brokerage and demat-routed investing. For SIP, EMI, FD, tax and 30+ other personal-finance calculators, use our sibling site PaisaMath. For IPO GMP, subscription and allotment tracking, use our sibling site IPO Station.

A broker’s calculator only shows that broker’s charges. Know Your Brokerage gives you the complete cost picture across every Indian broker, with the same trade inputs — so you can actually compare.
