Know Your Brokerage ("we", "us", "our") operates the website knowyourbrokerage.in (the "Site"). This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect when you visit the Site, how we use it, and the choices you have. The Site is an information and comparison resource for Indian stock brokers and financial calculators. We do not open trading accounts, hold funds or securities, process payments, or provide investment advice.

1. Information we collect

We try to collect as little information as possible. Specifically:

  • Information you give us. If you email us at knowyourbrokerage@gmail.com, we receive your email address and the contents of your message so we can reply.
  • Information collected automatically. Our hosting provider records standard server logs, including your IP address, browser type, device type, referring URL, and the pages you visit. These logs are used to operate the Site, diagnose errors, and detect abuse.
  • Cookies and local storage. The Site uses a small number of first-party cookies and browser local storage to remember preferences such as your selected colour theme. We do not use third-party advertising or behavioural tracking cookies.

We do not require you to create an account, and we do not collect your name, phone number, date of birth, PAN, bank or Demat account details.

2. How we use information

  • To operate, maintain and improve the Site and the calculators.
  • To respond to enquiries you send us by email.
  • To monitor aggregate usage patterns (for example, which calculators are most popular) so we can prioritise updates.
  • To detect, investigate and prevent fraudulent, abusive or illegal activity.

3. Sharing of information

We do not sell your personal information. We share information only in the following limited situations:

  • Service providers. Our hosting and content-delivery providers process server logs on our behalf in order to deliver the Site to you.
  • Legal compliance. We may disclose information if we are legally required to do so, for example in response to a valid court order or government request, or to protect our rights, property or safety.

4. Affiliate links and third-party sites

Some links on the Site point to broker websites and may be affiliate links, meaning we may earn a commission if you open an account with the broker through our link. Once you click an outbound link, you are on a third-party site and that site's own privacy policy applies. We have no control over what data those sites collect. 5. Data retention

Server logs are typically retained for up to 90 days unless we need to retain them longer to investigate abuse or comply with the law. Email correspondence is retained for as long as is reasonably useful to provide ongoing support, and may be deleted on request.

6. Security

We use HTTPS for all traffic and rely on reputable hosting providers with industry-standard security controls. No system is perfectly secure; if a breach occurs that affects your personal information we will take reasonable steps to notify you and remediate.

7. Your rights

You can ask us to confirm what information we hold about you, correct inaccuracies, or delete it. Email knowyourbrokerage@gmail.com and we will respond within a reasonable period.

8. Children

The Site is not directed at children under 18 and we do not knowingly collect information from them. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top reflects the most recent revision. Material changes will be flagged on the Site.
