Statutory & exchange charges
These are set by the government and exchanges — they apply on every trade through any Indian broker, not just Angel One. Values are percent of turnover (per side).
| Charge | Equity delivery | Equity intraday | Futures | Options |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| STT / CTT | 0.1% | 0.025% | 0.05% | 0.15% |

| GST (on brokerage + SEBI + exch) | 18% | 18% | 18% | 18% |
STT is charged on the sell side for equity delivery and intraday, on the sell side for options (on premium) and both sides for futures. Stamp duty applies on the buy side only. GST is computed on the sum of brokerage + SEBI + exchange transaction charges. DP charges apply separately on delivery sells. The calculator handles all of this automatically.
The Angel One brokerage calculator runs a real trade through these rates and breaks every charge out — brokerage, STT, GST, stamp duty, exchange, DP — by segment.

Account opening is Zero (free) for resident trading and demat account opening (one-time). Demat AMC is First year free; Rs 60 + GST per quarter from year 2 for non-BSDA accounts. These are separate from per-trade brokerage — see the Angel One demat account page for the full recurring-cost picture.
Every Angel One trade also carries statutory and exchange charges that are identical across all Indian brokers: STT/CTT, stamp duty (buy side), SEBI turnover fees, exchange transaction charges, and 18% GST on brokerage + SEBI + exchange. On small trades these often exceed the brokerage itself.
