Log in to Geojit on the web

Use this flow for desktop and laptop browsers. Always access the login URL via a bookmark you saved yourself — phishing look-alikes for Indian broker domains are common.

  1. 1
Open www.geojit.com and click the Login button.
Verify the URL bar shows the broker’s actual domain and a valid HTTPS padlock before entering anything.
  2. 2
Enter your Geojit user ID (or registered mobile) and your password.
User ID is the one Geojit emailed you at account opening. Password is the one you set during the application.
  3. 3
Approve the OTP / 2FA prompt sent to your registered mobile or email.
SEBI mandates 2FA on every web login session — there is no way to disable it. The OTP usually arrives in under 30 seconds.
  4. 4
You’re in. Funds, holdings, order placement and statements are all in the post-login dashboard.
The session times out after a period of inactivity — that is intentional and required by SEBI.

Log in to the Geojit app

The mobile app uses a separate PIN or biometric for day-to-day login after the first setup, which is faster than typing a password on a phone keyboard.

  1. 1
Download the official Geojit app from the Play Store (Android) or App Store (iOS).
Check the publisher name on the store listing matches Geojit — there are clone apps with similar names.
  2. 2
On first launch, sign in with your Geojit user ID and password, then approve the OTP.
  3. 3
Set a 4- or 6-digit PIN, and optionally enable Touch ID / Face ID for one-tap login on subsequent launches.
  4. 4
From the second launch onwards, you log in with the PIN or biometric — much faster than a password.
A fresh OTP-based session is still required periodically (typically every 24 hours) per SEBI 2FA rules.

Common Geojit login problems

Most login failures fall into one of these buckets. Try the fix before contacting customer care.

Forgot password

Tap “Forgot password” on the login screen. Enter your user ID or registered mobile. Geojit sends a reset link by email and / or OTP by SMS. Set a new password and log in.

OTP not arriving

Wait 60 seconds before re-requesting. Check spam for email OTPs and DND settings for SMS. If the mobile number on the account is no longer yours, update it via the account-profile section first.

Account locked

Multiple failed attempts trigger a temporary lock. Use “Forgot password” — a successful reset usually clears it. If it doesn’t, call Geojit customer care from your registered phone.

Biometric not working

Often caused by an OS update changing biometric IDs. Log in with password + OTP once, then re-enable biometric inside the app’s security settings. If the app keeps failing, uninstall and reinstall.

Keep your Geojit login secure

Indian broker accounts are a frequent phishing target. These habits cost nothing and prevent almost every common attack.

  • Use a unique, long password — a password manager makes this trivial.
  • Always type the broker URL into your browser or use a bookmark you saved yourself — never click “login” links from email or SMS.
  • Never share OTPs or passwords. Geojit customer care will never ask for either.
  • Enable biometric login on the Geojit app and a PIN / passcode on your phone.
  • Review login history in your account periodically and report any unrecognised sessions immediately. Suspected fraud can also be escalated to SEBI SCORES.

Frequently asked

What people ask about logging in to Geojit.

The official login page is on Geojit's own website at https://www.geojit.com. Bookmark the URL the first time you sign in and access it via the bookmark afterwards — never click "login" links from email or SMS, as look-alike phishing pages are a common attack on Indian broker accounts.

On first login you sign in with the user ID Geojit sent at account opening, plus the password you set during the application. You then verify with an OTP sent to your registered mobile or email, and set up a PIN / biometric for future app logins. SEBI rules require 2FA on every login session.

On the Geojit login screen tap "Forgot password" and enter your user ID or registered mobile number. Geojit sends a reset link to your registered email and / or an OTP to your registered mobile. Set a new password. If you've changed phones or lost access to both email and mobile, you'll need to call customer care and verify identity with PAN, date of birth and bank details.

Most often the OTP is just delayed during high-traffic windows (market open, expiry day). Wait 60 seconds before re-requesting. If it still doesn't arrive: check that your registered mobile is reachable, check the spam folder for email OTPs, and confirm DND settings aren't blocking transactional SMS. If you've changed phone numbers, you'll need to update the registered mobile via the account-profile section before OTP login works again.

Biometric login uses your phone's native biometric (Touch ID / Face ID / fingerprint) gated by Android or iOS — Geojit does not see your biometric data. It is at least as safe as a 4–6 digit PIN, and usually safer in practice because it removes the temptation to use a memorable PIN. Always pair it with the OS-level lock on your phone (PIN / pattern / passcode).

Accounts typically lock after multiple consecutive failed login attempts or after a long period of inactivity. To unlock: use "Forgot password" to reset, which usually clears the failed-attempt lock. If that doesn't work, contact Geojit customer care from your registered phone or email and request a manual unlock — they will re-verify identity. Don't share OTPs with anyone "helping" you unlock; this is the #1 vector for account fraud in India.

Yes, but only one active web session at a time on most brokers — logging in on a second laptop usually signs out the first. The mobile app maintains its own session in parallel with the web. If you see "you have been logged out" frequently, check whether someone else (family member, advisor) is using the same credentials on another device.

Use a unique long password (a password manager helps), enable biometric login on the app, never share OTPs over phone or chat, always access the login URL via your own bookmark, and review the login-history page on https://www.geojit.com periodically for unrecognised sessions. If you spot anything unusual, change the password immediately and call customer care.
