How to estimate MTF interest

A daily tariff uses actual funded balance × whole chargeable days × daily percentage /100. An annual tariff first divides its percentage by the broker’s recorded day basis. Groww uses its annual /365 formula; its approximate daily quote does not replace it. All rates, divisors and day conventions have separate dated sources above.

Example: ₹1,00,000 funded for 30 chargeable days at Zerodha’s recorded 0.04% daily rate gives ₹1,200.00 estimated interest. This is an arithmetic illustration, not a holding-period promise or investment recommendation.

This pilot has three standard tariffs, excluding conditional promotions, slabs and paid-plan variants. MTF is borrowing to invest: interest remains payable when an investment falls, and positions may be sold if required margins are not maintained. No suitability assessment, return forecast or guaranteed funding multiple is provided.

MTF interest calculator FAQ

For a daily tariff, multiply the actual fixed broker-funded balance by whole chargeable days and the daily percentage divided by 100. For an annual tariff, also divide by the broker’s recorded day basis. Retain precision until the final money display. This is a simple-interest estimate on an unchanged funded balance.

Enter only the amount financed by the broker, excluding your own contribution. The calculator does not infer funding from a leverage multiple, collateral value or stock purchase value.

Not necessarily. Use the selected broker’s sourced accrual-day convention shown above. The calculator accepts whole chargeable days; it does not convert buy/sell dates, settlement cycles or holidays into a bill.

No. It includes financing interest only. Brokerage, taxes, DP/pledge and unpledge charges, recurring fees and penalties are excluded. Changing funded balances, compounding/default interest, stock eligibility, collateral requirements and liquidation thresholds are not calculated.

This pilot includes sourced standard MTF tariffs for Zerodha, Groww and Angel One. Conditional promotions, slabs and paid-plan variants are excluded. Missing or unsupported plans do not imply unavailable or free funding. Check each tariff’s official source and verification date before using it.

Zero funding or zero chargeable days gives explanatory zero interest only when a verified plan is selected; other costs may still apply. Blank, negative, fractional-day, unsafe or out-of-range values hide the estimate. Ordinary decimal notation is required; exponent notation is unsupported. Very small positive interest may round to zero on display without making funding free.
